Movie Night at the Park

August kicked off Friday night movie night at Graceda park. We got their extra early thinking it would be crowded, it wasn't and we ended up having A LOT of time on our hands. We met our friends the Coronas there and had a nice little picnic. We had fun playing Duck-Duck-Goose, even though not all of the U woods know how to play correctly. The movie was Kung Fu Panda, we didn't actually stay for the whole thing. AT 9:00 Grace had to use the bathroom and we didn't feel like the bathroom at Graceda was the best choice. Fun times, thanks for joining us Coronas!

Getting Ready for Church

Getting ready for church is never an easy task at our house. Between girls that are set on dressing themselves and Landon who derobes, there is always mayhem happening. A few weeks ago I got Landon completely dressed before we even went downstairs, we're talking shoes and everything. Then I headed downstairs for breakfast. A little while later he came down, LIKE THIS:

Seriously?!?!? Buddy, what happened, where are you shoes and LONE sock? Who knows, he found magnets on the fridge and tuned me out. CRAZY sunday MORNINGS!

FIRST day of FIRST grade

Last month Hannah started First grade. She was SO excited to be going, mainly because she has her own desk. That's a pretty big deal to first graders. This is a picture of her before we headed out, you can tell she's pretty proud~




The walk to school was pretty exciting, Hannah yelling "First grade!!!" much of the way. Her enthusiasm was contagious because the younger two started chanting it as well.

Unfortunately the enthusiasm quickly wore off, in like 2 days. The first week was REALLY hard. Hannah was super tired, didn't want to stay at school so long and was pretty grouchy. Thankfully we have survived, although she still says kindergarten was WAY better, much more playing. She says she only wants to got to school until 5th grade and then she's DONE. Elementary school dropout?!?!

Grace was set to start preschool this fall as well. However, after a melt down (and registration fee wasted!!), she declined. She has been at the same day care since she was 18 months and does not want to leave her friends or Michele. Michele is really good about working on preschool stuff with them so we decided to leave her be for now. Here's to a new school year......

Bass Lake

So back in July we took a family trip to Bass Lake. We were suppose to go to another place but due to a wild fire and asthmatic children, we had to change the plan at the last minute. We chose Bass Lake, we had never been before and wanted to try something new.

Due to lack of space, all the kids ended up in the back row..... two words, NEVER AGAIN!

The lake was amazing. Perfect temperature, clear and surrounded by trees.

This was something Landon enjoyed, bending over and getting his head wet.

This is Landon, apparently eating Peanuts...which is allergic to. It caused some serious panic in us. Luckily he did not have a reaction.

These are the happy kids right before Landon decided to lurch into the road in front of a truck... I pretty much lost it after that. Can we keep the near death expieriences to one per day?

This is the dear that found his way into our campsite and was eating some food he found. Brave little guy he was.

This is my super brave hubby looking for the spooking, creepy dear that came back for more food in the wee hours of the night. He is my HERO.

One of our days at the lake we rented a boat for the day. This was so much fun. We had a blast, it seriously made our whole trip.

We found this nice little cove to dock and have lunch in. After the lunch the kids fed the ducks, bread and Doritos. The Doritos were not approved....for the record.

The kids were pretty excited to fish , they didn't catch anything, maybe because they didn't have hooks. Landon+hook= bad idea

Hannah finally got the courage to tube alone. She was awesome.

So Landon decided to give up naps while camping, as well as early bed times, he was a pretty tired guy. The whole trip he would complain, " Ma I wanna go home". At one point he stood at the van and looked at Grace and said, "Kiki, I wanna go home, open the door". Finally on the boat he was his happy, content self. He sat with Scott in the driver's seat. Eventually he couldn't keep his eyes open any more.

After our last tube run, I called out to Hannah in the water and told her that we needed to take the boat back. Full on sobs in the water, asking if we could buy a boat. When I replied, Yah, maybe someday, that wasn't good enough. She wanted a boat TODAY. Sorry kiddo, if only.....

That's it! We had so much fun, we went and had the best pizza for dinner and went and crashed at our camp site. We didn't make it to the fire work show on the lake, someday we will. This was definitely a new favorite for us. We will be back next year.
