Disneyland trip Day 1

We have been planning this trip to Disneyland for quite some time. When we were finally set to go last April, 3 out of 5 of us had pneumonia, and Scott's was so bad he was in the hospital. Needless to say our trip got postponed. The kids were so patient when we had to put it off, and we were SO excited this past week to finally make our trip. This is Gracie Lou the first morning, ready to go to the park.

Wednesday night we drove to Buena Park and slept at the Super 8. It was a last minute thing to leave Wednesday and so our hotel near Disney was booked. The Super 8.... was NOT super. All the lights were on motion/timer and would go off randomly, like when you are taking a shower or blow drying your hair.... not cool. Our room which was suppose to be two queens and a pull out (We had Scott's dad with us), was actually two FULL beds w/ no pull out and they ran out of roll away beds. No problem we say, we are flexible, We're the Underwoods after all, we will make make-shift beds on the floor for the kiddos. But no..... they ran out of blankets... SUPER!

Gearing up for our first day

First stop, the carousel

waiting in line for Pinochios ride

This is seriously my favorite, who knew that Pinochios ride would be so scary??? I love their expressions!

He really wanted to see but just couldn't bringhimself to do it.
Hannah is such a protective big sister.

Grace enjoyed it much more than they did.

The Jungle Cruise. Scott really wants to work on this ride, he thinks he has the funniness it takes to give the tours.

The kids saved their money for months so that they could buy their souveniors. Landon was pretty excited to geth these little figrine guys, he carried them around the whole time.

He gave them to Winnie the Pooh.

Next stop, Tom Sawyers Island, another hit for the kiddos!

The kids were pretty excited for all the pirate stuff, Landon is big into prirates right now.

A lucky pot of treasure!

For a early dinner went we to the Blue Bayou. It was so much fun and the food was yummy yummy yummy!

LOVED our pirate hats!

Every time we went to visit Minnie, we would get to the front of the line and she would have to leave, so, sadly we never got her autograph.

Landon was a big fan of Minnie's house. Especially her make up vanity, love his reflection in the mirror where he is sucking on her perfume.

On our way back to our hotel, Grace picked up the paper for a little read, this pic cracks me up!

We were pretty beat after our day and headed back for some hot tub action. After the kids got into bed, Scott and Rick went back to Disneyland to catch up on some adult rides, they had a great time, and I got to relax in the most cozy bed. It was a great first day.

Two reasons I LOVE summer:

and more camping, and okay a 3rd thing my baby boy getting nice and clean after a day in the dirt.

They're so quirky... how could we not love them?

Our friends the Coronas had their first camping trip, they survived.

smores are our favorite!

This weekend the girls had to share a bed, pretty sad that Hannah fell out of her sleeping bag. We were serenaded all night with the sweet sounds of Mike snoring all night. I'm pretty thankful that this is not a sound I have to hear every night.

Landon made friends with Lando, even though I'm not sure that they understand each other real well, they got to be crazy boys together, which apparently is all that matters.
More fishing = still NO fish

cute little Elia helping with lunch

We had to wear some serious protective head gear to keep out the flying bugs. We had a good time playing Mexican Train, Friday night we played Trivia Pursuit and I felt like the stupidest educated person.

All in all we had a good time. My kids have been eaten alive by mesquito bugs, Hannah appears too be allergic and they swell up the size of golf balls. I love to be outside playing all day and love love love to sleep in the crisp cool air. Thanks friends for a fabulous weekend! Looking forward to our adult-only trip!
