Christmas Eve

It was pretty hard to not spend Christmas eve with these darling little faces. I wonder if it was harder to be the parent at home trying to pretend like life was normal. Scott definitely rose to the challenge and made sure that the kids had fun, despite everything that is going on.
He took the kids to Deloso Farms to see the lights.

Apparently we don't buckle all the kids....clearly mom wasn't there!

The kids were super excited that the elves remembered to drop off their Christmas jammies on Christmas eve!

Love this kids SO much. Thanks hubby for making their Christmas special for them, even if you did want to cancel it!

Mama's Back

So, it's been almost three months since surgery and life at the Underwoods is FINALLY getting back to normal (keep in mind, "normal" is just our version of controlled chaos). I am so thankful to finally feel good again, I never want to go through an expeierience like that again. No matter how much support you have, you can only feel crappy for so long before a wave of depression and hopelessness comes in. I have been so fortunate to nearly miss any long term side effects and problems. My pancrease does not produce the enzyme need to absorb fat (and this is a problem why???), so Dr. P prescribed enzymes that I have to take with every meals. Pretty frustrated, when I asked him if there were any side effects from the meds he said, "weight gain". BOOOO! But, it's what my body needs to digest food and get what it needs. However, I think I will use it to my advantage. Like last night when Jeremy came home with an extra double cheeseburger from Burger King, I ate it right up and didn't take my meds, Get it....Then I can't absorb the fat! Win Win. Not really, I didn't feel so lucky hours later when my body couldn't digest it. It seemed like a good idea in the moment.

Now we are back to work, school, baseball and dance. The schedule keeps us very busy, but I am blessed and thankful to be back to normal. Pics and out dated posts to come!
