Home at Last

We finally came home today. Kim is still a little nauseous when she eats but is doing better. We hops she continues to get better and won't need to go back. The Dr. didn't really have a reason to why she was nauseous. But it feels good to back home with the kids.

Sunday

Today Kim is doing much better. She is eating much more and took a couple of walks. She looks good today as well. Hopefully things will start working and she can come home soon. Kim's mom came down to be with the kids this week and help when Kim comes home. School starts back up for me, but I am taking a week off to be here with Kim or help out at home.

Saturday

All of Kim's blood work looked good. There are no complications from the surgery. This is good news. There is no time frame for her return. She is on a liquid diet and is nauseous when she drinks anything. Hopefully some of the meds start working.....or her stomach that would help out as well.

Back to Standford

So we talked to the doctor and he wanted to admit her to the hospital.....so we are back to Stanford. We are not sure how long. The nurse ask if we could hurry up leave within a hour. We packed got the kids set up and off we drove to find out there are beds for us. So far we we have been waiting for about 3 hrs. for a room.

Standford follow up

We went to Standford yesterday for a follow up apt. Kim is still having difficulty eating a drinking. One issue with this surgery is that your stomach can become paralyzed and nothing will go down. Although this isn't uncommon, it usually should be working by now. The doctor almost admitted her but decided to give her IV fluid and switch up some meds instead. Doesn't really seem to be working very well. Today she still cannot eat and vomited. We are waiting for a call for Stanford to call back. I am thinking she may get have to spend some time back in the hospital. Crossing my fingers everything starts up again.

A little clarification

POST OP SUCKS! This has been so slow and awful, I hate to whine, but I will do it. Eating has been so difficult and well as drinking. Everything makes me nauseous, smelling food, seeing food and thinking about food. We have tried all kinds of meds none which are really helping.
On a more positive notes my kids are amazing. They have been so helpful and will do anything just to get a little closer to mama. I am grateful for all the support our family has received. Our doctor is SOOOO amazing, lots of blessings to be counted.

Home Post op

So after Kim came I quit posting, but just a quick update. She is doing ok. She is having difficulty eating and drinking. She feels full and nauseous. We ended up in the ER yesterday so she get some fluid and not be dehydrated. This isn't uncommon for this type of surgery. It really slows down the digestive system. We have a follow up apt. next Thursday at Standford.
