Denial: The 1st stage of grief/loss

Sunday was the BIG day that we said goodbye to the bottle. There was definitely some hesitation on Landon's part (okay...on mine too). But after some solid peer pressure (The family chanting "Big Boy, Big Boy, Big Boy") he decided to throw the "bob" away. We even put it in the outside garbage to eliminate any temptations to go retrieve it. So this video depicts the denial he is experiencing regarding throwing "bob" away.

How much can a little rain hurt?

Last Tuesday Landon started getting sick and really has not been himself. We made an appointment to take him to the doctor Saturday morning for a pretty nasty cough (I already had taken him once this week) but he woke up in a pretty good mood. He loved being outside and running around and was feeling better so we canceled the appointment. We went shopping for his bday (awesome that he could come and not even know what was going on) and came home to a little rain. Did I mention he LOVES the rain?!?!

He's trying to drink the rain.

And catch the rain.....

And poke the rain....

He thoroughly enjoyed "wippee wippee wippee" on the car.

So this is the cute soaked little man. The bad part.......? He actually is sicker than we thought and continues to have the nasty cough the rest of the day and night. I took him to the doctor Sunday morning and she did a chest xray and he has pneumonia. Do I feel like the worst mom in the planet? You betcha! Did I tell her I let him play in the rain the day before? Nope. Granted he was already sick but I feel like a pretty bad mom..... The worse part is he still can't kick the cough even on the antibiotic. Poor little guy, he can't seem to catch a break.

Who did this?

I went in the bathroom to get ready this morning and this is what I found:

Blue marker drawn on the wall. So I call all three children into the bathroom. Who did this I ask? Not me says everyone......

Landon says, "Noooooooo". I believe him because if her had done it he actually would have been pretty proud .

Hannah oh so defensively denies any involvement and adamantly states, "I'm serous mom". This would have been something that she's capable of. She did this on the chair railing in her room only it was much more decorative and stylish. If Hannah says "I'm serious" though we usually know she had nothing to do with it.

And then there's Grace. She too denies involvement, only while doing so she's covering her face because she doesn't want us to see her. I ask her multiple times and she insists that she didn't do it. And then I look at her face and remember the strikingly similar blue marker that appeared on her face yesterday afternoon. You can't see it too well here but it's to the right of her mouth , it's kind of faded today but I could still see it. SO I call her out and she finally fesses up. I swear that they think we know everything, but they're not very good liars. She had to clean it up however it appears to be permanent. Good thing we are planning on painting this spring.

TaHoE

After Christmas we went to Tahoe to visit the Aunties. We had a lot of fun playing in the snow while we were there. The kids love to play in the snow, this was Landon's first year getting to go out in it. They tried sledding which was a hit. We love going to Tahoe and miss our Aunties so much. Today I told Hannah we were having people over for dinner. She said, "Please, please tell me that Auntie Sunshine is coming for dinner". Bummer kid, it's a little too far of a drive for dinner.

While we were there Hannah mastered the skill of tying her shoes. She was SO proud of herself. What a big girl she has become.

face painting and lollipops

We had a really busy Saturday yesterday. We woke up BRIGHT and early, by 6:30 thanks to all that sun coming in. We had lots of errands and a little bit of spring shopping to do. Hannah got invited to a bday party and the mom had called and invited her to go with all the other girls before the party to get their nails painted. This was a HUGE step for me to let her go..... I am a little crazy. But she did and had a lot of fun. We met her back at Del Taco for the party where the kids got to have their faces painted. Really fun day.....and we got lots of stuff done outside, Thanks honey!! It was SUPER nice outside and got us excited for spring.

We got in the car and started back home. I didn't even realize that apparently Landon scored a goody bag with his favorite.... a lollipop! Like I said, I'm a little crazy and I cringe at the thought of him having one of these major safety catastrophes in his mouth..... just imagine the possibilities!!!
But look how happy this little guy is, he even got it open all by himself.

And these fine images are what transpires when you wrestle the almost 2 year old to the ground and pry his death grip hold open and remove the lollipop. Pretty sad I know. But then I gave him a......wait for it.....a BOTTLE!!! See there is so many reasons why I have not weaned him. How else could I instantly silence him and make him love me (this by the way is the key) AND have him go to sleep?!?!? Really this is the only way.

The fabulous Littlest Pet shop bandaid is the new addition to the head wound since he reopened the site when he smacked into the table. Even better, this morning when we were getting ready for church I put his sweater on him and he started screaming. Apparently I ripped the scab off with his sweater and it reopened again. Poor guy, I felt pretty bad.

Princess VS. Elmo

Landon loves the girls princess backpack. Last week he wore it over to Lisa's and refused to take it off. Did I mention that it's a pretty pink color? Between that and his constant request for lip gloss and mascara (I'm not gonna lie....sometimes I give in), I thought it was time for a more manly backpack. And what is more manly then.... Elmo? So I got it for him last night and gave it to him this morning.....LOVED it! Check out the cute picks of our Baby.

It's Not as BAD as it looks

This is how the phone call goes: "I just want to warn you for when you get home, it's not as bad as it looks." What's not?? "Landon's head, it looks worse than it is, just so you don't freak out".
What mom wants to be told this?!?!?! Apparently he took a dive off the slide out back and banged his head up pretty good. This kid is going to provide me with the ultimate heart attack! Falling off the slide, falling down the stairs, climbing onto the stove, climbing onto the counters.....too much.....too much. So, check out the pics for yourself....it's not as BAD as it looks.

Great Gma U is 92!!!

Last month we went to Morgan Hill to celebrate Scott's grandma's birthday...the big 92!! She kept telling Scott, "I'm the only one left!" Seriously she is so cute....just what you would picture in a sweet little old grandma. We had such a nice day visiting at their house. Scott's aunt lives on like billion acres, okay maybe not that big, but freakin huge! The land backs up to woods and it was a gorgeous day. I layed in the hammock for several hours and just enjoyed being outside. The kids had fun running around and playing on the tennis courts. Really a great day.

The kids were pretty excited that they had a drinking fountain in their backyard....ahhhh...the good life.

I had to include these, Landon loves to show the girls how strong he is. They laugh so hard at him which just makes him do it even more. I swear his eyes are going to bug out of his head one of these days from doing it. This is Grace's best "strong" pose, looks a little more timid than Landons, he could totally take her. No offense G....We love you though!

Packages

This week the kids got packages from their Aunties. They LOVE getting mail and this was no exception. The following is Hannah's account that she would to blog about: "Landon loved his ball slinger, it broke and I gave him mine. Gracie wanted to bring her monkey to the store because she loved it. And I love my monkey too. Thank you Aunties, I love you! I miss you. When are we going to go to your house? Bye-Bye, The End."
Looks like she's a little blogger in the making!!

The big guy crying because he couldn't get his open.

More candy?!?!? Just what my kids need!

These paddle ball slingers were a big hit...literally.
