Our consolation prize

In our house March did not end on a high note, and April has been equally as rough. It appears that we are plagued and have been battling one sickness/illness after another, as well as countless ER trips and Scott's first (and hopefully last) hospitalization. We had planned an amazing trip to Disneyland to celebrate Spring and Grace and Landon's birthdays. Needless to say, it never happened. We had to cancel the trip and tell the kiddos the bad news. Hannah is such a sweet girl, as the tears welled up in her eyes, she said, "Well, sometimes these things happen". Yes, my sweet sweet girl they do. So, with Scott home and on the couch me and my munchkins and Kim and her munchkins, plus one daring Papa, set out for our consolation destination, SIX FLAGS. Yes, us adults were grossly outnumbered, yes we were EXHAUSTED when we returned home, and YES I had to have a major pedicure that felt more like a surgical procedure to fix the mishaps of wearing saltwaters all day, but these darlings had SO much fun.... all totally worth it!

Incidentally, NO ONE was scared, these kids are growin up!

Stop two, double stroller and bathroom, for the record this is one of the few times Landon actually sat in the stroller, he felt like he either needed to PUSH it, or walk/run everywhere

Saw a fabulous sea lion show which the kids loved, as well as the adults

These seals are seriously SO smart, how can they be trained SOOO well and yet my kids struggle to listen?!?

"Find your buddy", that's what we say and somehow they all pair off by age/birth order

Checking out the tiger fossils, as we were walking away the guy says, "Who wants to pet a tiger"? Grace, bug eyes, "I do, I do"!! Really Grace does that sound like a good idea?

Another fave, the butterfly habitat, if you can get past the humidity, these things are gorgeous

The girls thought if they held real still, one would land on them, sadly they did not

The walrus was another personal favorite, he just hung out with the kids at the window and was constantly clapping with his fins.

And lastly the souvenirs, Landon chose the cape and the cotton candy (I chose the glasses that Landon is wearing)

Grace also got the cotton candy and cape. Hannah got a necklace and a dolphin, clearly I gave up on pictures at this point.

So glad that we were able to have a DaY Of FUN despite the chaos that has been our lives lately. What a perfect way to spend a Spring day, the only thing that could have been better.... My hubby by my side.
