Cover's Apple Ranch

I've been feeling the need to be inspired into believing that it is actually fall, the weather clearly has not convinced me. So today we set out with some good friends, the Davidsons and the Segallas and traveled past Sonora to Cover's Apple Ranch. Today was their fall festival day which included an amazing BBQ lunch of pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans, salads and amazing pie. It was soooo YUMMY!

We also got to try their homemade apple cider, which was delicious. The kids even got to watch how they made it.


The families that own the ranch are from the church of the Brethren, which are similar to Meninites. They were the nicest people and had all kinds of games for the kids that were free. Like this game that you had to untie the knotted jump rope without letting go of the handles. Yep, we adults couldn't get but the kids seemed to...suspicious if you ask me!

The oh so fabulous train ride, which Scott narrated for us, similar to the Jungle Cruise at Disneyland, which he would love to work at.

So against WAY better judging, the kids bobbed for apples. The thought makes me gag....the water I'm sure had lots of other mouths in it, but the kids really wanted to....

All of the kids got their own carmel apple as prizes. I wonder if they will wake up tomorrow barfing from all of the germs!

As soon as we got in the car the kids thanked us for the fabulous day and said they had so much fun. Thanks friends for joining us, what a great afternoon! Happy Fall.
